Hi reader friends! Well, I didn’t want to leave you hanging again this week with another long stretch between posts so I’m going to give you just a short update until I have a little more time to sit down and write something substantial.
Despite my wishing I’d had a chance to talk to more companies at the job fair, I ended up with two interviews with excellent companies. I have received an offer from Company #1 and have been told I’ll be hearing back from Company #2 this coming Monday. And oh, wait, I just answered my phone and apparently will be having up a phone interview next week with Company #3. So, I’m super excited that I should be, one way or another, set up with an internship for next summer very soon. Cross your fingers for me on Company #2 – they’re my first pick!
This continues to be the most stressful and emotionally draining semester I’ve ever had, but I’m slowing chipping away at all the projects and feeling a little more in control. The group project dynamic is still the most stressful thing for me, and I am definitely going to be writing a longer post on that as soon as I have time to sit down and get my thoughts together.
For a lot of reasons, this semester has really challenged my confidence in myself and my abilities. It’s caused me to question whether or not I’m cut out to be an engineer. It’s made me wonder if maybe I just don’t have that “knack” for mechanical things that some others seem to have. But thanks to some awesome friends and my amazing family, I’ve managed to keep those fears at bay. I know I can do this, and I’m going to keep on trucking. If you happen to be one of those “awesome friends” or a member of my “amazing family,” thank you for believing in me and supporting me.
Have an awesome rest of the week and a great weekend! Cheers!
